Elisabeth Lewis-Jones has been appointed as a trustee to Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Lis is CEO of Liquid, the only UK PR consultancy with offices in the Channel Islands.
She has extensive PR experience, with knowledge and experience across a broad range of sectors including food, travel, education and healthcare.
Over the past decade Lis has played a significant part in shaping the communications landscape in the UK through her involvement in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) of which she was national president in 2008. She was also chairman of the PRCA Council in 2011 and 2012 and has been a member of the PRCA Board of Management since 2013.
Commenting on the position of Trustee, Lis said; “There is this sudden realisation, especially when you have children, about the sustainability of the planet and the world you’re leaving to them. My sons, like most children, are enthralled with exotic or different animals and that sparked an awareness and interest in conservation.
“I am excited at the prospect of being involved in the fabulous work that Durrell does across the world, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to use my skills to assist in driving the Trust forward in its mission to save species from extinction. I hope to be able to help increase awareness and recognition of this amazing conservation charity in the UK, which will in turn support its fundraising activities.”
In 2003 Lis was awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for her contribution to the PR industry and PR Week has listed her as one of the top 100 most influential people in PR.
Ms Jones is also a Trustee of IPROVision, the benevolent fund of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and a Governor of Bloxham School in Oxfordshire.
