The evolving financial landscape and the challenges facing international centres amid a complex geopolitical climate were discussed at Jersey Finance’s annual Dubai conference this week.
The theme of the conference was ‘Resilience and Reinvention: IFCs in a New Global Landscape’.
The event was co-hosted by Joe Moynihan, CEO of Jersey Finance, alongside An Kelles, Director of GCC, and Faizal Bhana, Director of Middle East, Africa and India from Jersey Finance’s Middle East Regional hub in the Dubai IFC.
The agenda featured a keynote address by Dr Ryan Lemand, co-founder and CEO of Neovision Wealth Management and 'fireside chats' with Faizal Bhana and An Kelles who discussed the unique challenges and opportunities for IFCs in the region.
Other notable speakers included Bryan Stirewalt, Financial Services Regulatory Leader at Ernst and Young Consulting and Simon Penney CMG, CEO of Incrementum ME.
Joe Moynihan said the this year's conference underscores Jersey Finance's commitment to "fostering resilience and innovation" within the sector.
He explained: “In an environment of perpetual change, the focus should always be on opportunity rather than adversity. This conference underscores our commitment to fostering resilience and innovation within the financial sector.”
An Kelles added that it reinforces Jersey's position as a leader in international finance.
“This gathering not only highlights the strength of our financial services community but also reinforces Jersey’s position as a leader in international finance," he said.
