Seapower Marine celebrates boating industry award

Thursday 11 January 2018

Marine services company, Seapower Marine, has received an award for Outstanding Performance in the Volvo Penta ‘Partnership for Professional’ challenge 2017.

Seapower Marine was up against all Volvo Penta dealerships in the UK and was judged on marketing, training, part and engine sales, as well as levels of customer service.

Johnathon Pereira (pictured left), Managing Director, Seapower Marine said: “This is an absolute achievement for the team at Seapower Marine and we would like to thank our team for all their hard work, and thank our loyal customer base and fellow traders for their continued support.

“This is a very positive step for a young company and brings a new level of service and professionalism to the marine industry in the Channel Islands.”

Seapower Marine took on the Volvo Penta dealership in Jersey in October 2015, less than a year after Mr Pereira set up the marine engineering firm. Volvo Penta is used by 80% of yachts and powerboats in Jersey, and the Swedish firm holds a similar proportion of the global market for engines.

Mr Pereira added: “People in the Channel Islands take great pride in maintaining their boats to the highest standards, something which fits perfectly with our ethos for providing exceptional customer service. Reaching this position in the awards when we’re up against over 40 UK firms is testimony of the high standards we are offering customers in the Channel Islands.”

Seapower Marine,  which is located in La Collette harbour, has also recently been appointed MAN marine dealer for the Channel Islands, providing a dedicated, factory-trained team, to sell and service modern MAN engines.

Peter Chalk, Managing Director of PME Group, MAN’s UK importer, said: “Having visited Johnathon Pereira and his team we were impressed by their commitment to professionalism and customer care and were convinced Seapower Marine would be the perfect representative for us and for MAN in the Channel Islands.”

Mr Pereira said: “MAN engines are popular with many boat-owners because of their cutting- edge dynamics, fuel economy, and environmental friendliness. We’re delighted to be able to sell and service the most modern MAN engines, offering customers a wide range of models, along with repair and diagnostic services.”
