SGB Hire has received the Living Wage Accreditation, meaning that it pays all employees at least £11.27 an hour.
The company, which has been operating in Jersey since the 1960s, has almost 40 members of staff, locally.
It has been accredited by Catholic anti-poverty charity Caritas, which has been licensed by the Living Wage Foundation in the UK to manage and co-ordinate the promotion of a Living Wage in Jersey.
Jersey Living Wage Campaign Team Leader Jennifer Bridge said: “We are thrilled that SGB Hire has been accredited as a Living Wage employer and delighted to welcome this firm into the growing living wage family. We hope that this accreditation will inspire other firms to do the same.”
SGB Hire’s Philip Le Claire said: “Achieving the Living Wage Accreditation is important as it clearly demonstrates how much we appreciate and value our staff team.
“It also means that when our colleagues leave work at the end of the working day, they are less likely to be worrying about their finances and will be confident that they can afford the essentials and that they can save.
“It also means that they are able to use their free time to relax and de-stress and to spend important free time with their families to improve both their relationships and their mental and physical wellbeing.”
