Sionic has appointed Daniel Le Blancq to lead the Jersey division of its Wealth Management and Private Banking Practice.
Mr Le Blancq has a wealth of frontline experience in the offshore fiduciary and funds services sector, spanning client-service delivery, operations, compliance, change, and IT.
He has held senior positions with some of the industry’s leading firms, including Mourant, Ogier, Elian, and Intertrust, and has worked in a number of jurisdictions including Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman, BVI, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Mr Le Blancq specialises in tackling underperforming processes and associated backlogs, and has a track record of using technology to improve operational efficiency, regulatory alignment, user experience and client service levels.
Mr Le Blancq said: “On a fundamental level, I just like fixing stuff - and then working out better ways to do things so the stuff doesn’t get broken again.
“I’ve spent many, fantastic years doing that in-house with some of the biggest firms in offshore financial services. I’m now looking forward to expanding my horizons with Sionic and working with new people, new clients, and a range of fresh challenges in the offshore sector.”
Scott Lee, Sionic Managing Partner and co-head of Sionic's specialist Wealth Management and Private Banking team, said: “The financial services environment in all locations becomes increasingly challenging year by year, driven in large part by a relentless volume of complex and often overlapping regulation, alongside fast-paced technology change and tightening employment markets.
“Sionic has an outstanding offer for clients to help them in these areas. Dan is the ideal person to lead this next phase of our geographical expansion, with an impressive blend of expertise, personal and professional appreciation of the distinctive nature of ‘offshore’.
“He is also fizzing with ideas and energy - and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
