The Board of Standard Bank Jersey has appointed two senior finance professionals, Andrea John and Lisa Nelson.
Ms John (pictured top) joined Standard Bank Offshore Group as Head of Risk two years ago, since when she has been responsible for driving forward the Bank’s overall risk management vision, strategy and policy.
She had previously been Head of Banking for the Jersey Financial Services Commission and also held senior roles at the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority in London.
Ms Nelson was appointed CFO (Standard Bank Offshore Group) by Standard Bank earlier this year, initially qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG before going onto hold senior finance positions at HSBC and Bank of Bermuda.
More recently, she held the position of CFO at a tech firm providing software to the funds industry.
Charles Molteno, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank Jersey, believes both will be great assets to the board.
Charles said: “We are fortunate to have a Board with proven expertise and experience in their respective fields and the appointment of Andrea and Lisa strengthens this formation.
“Both are financial services professionals with an impressive breadth and depth of knowledge, and I have no doubt they will use their skills, energy and experience to make significant contributions to the strategic and operational aspects of SBJ.”
Ms John added: “During my two years with Standard Bank, I have been proud to work alongside a leadership team of highly qualified and experienced professionals.
“To be invited to join the board is a real honour and represents yet another exciting new opportunity as we aim to deliver continued excellence for our clients and continue our journey of connecting Africa to international markets.”
Isle of Man-based Ms Nelson, whose appointment is subject to regulatory approval, said of her appointment: “It’s an exciting time to join Standard Bank. I am thrilled to be part of a team delivering such ambitious growth plans and am very much looking forward to this opportunity to join the Board and others that lie ahead.”
