Jersey-based tech company SystemLabs has acquired IT security products and services distributor Redcoin.
The Managing Director of Redcoin, Alex Blackwell, is joining SystemLabs as part of the deal.
SystemLabs says that the acquisition “bolsters its existing knowledge in cybersecurity and adds a wealth of best of breed security products to its roster”.
Jamie McDonald, SystemLabs’ Director and Head of Infrastructure, said: “This strategic move not only gives us access to a range of security tools and vendors, which will enable us to further meet our existing client’s cyber-security needs, but also provides access to a new client base whom we can help further assist with their overall technology requirements.
Mr Blackwell, who becomes Director of Business Development at SystemLabs, added: “The past 18 months have been a catalyst to the way businesses operate and has changed the IT threat landscape drastically.
“It is even more relevant today for organisations to have affordable solutions and services to enhance their security posture, while increasing productivity and profitability.
“The combined skillset offered by both organisations strengthens our proposition across Security, Development and Professional Services, which is a unique proposition to the islands.
“We are excited to take this journey with our clients and to support them proactively and efficiently over the years to come.”
The move to acquire Redcoin comes at a time of growth for the local company after some recent new appointments of team members to meet growing demand of its clients.
