A range of top coaches and sports trainers including a former head of Sport Scotland, a trainer who has worked with the NBA and NFL and the coach of the world’s number one squash player are in Jersey tomorrow for a major event.
John Scriven, an athletic development specialist, has organised a “Performance Development Summit” at the Radisson Hotel.
Arranged to tie in with the build-up to the Natwest Island Games, Mr Scriven said that the event would let local coaches involved in preparing athletes and competitors for the games hear from international experts.
The event focuses on “human movement science”, including biomechanics and nutrition.
Mr Scriven said: “We have a fantastic line up of speakers from the UK and further a field, as well as local specialists presenting on cutting edge health, fitness and sport topics.
“All of the workshops are very practical and designed to give any coach or trainer involved in helping get the most out of athletes and clients the very latest up to date information and practical know how.
“We hope to be able to give delegates the ability to walk away and 'apply the next day'.”
