Islanders will soon be hacking away all weekend to try to come up with innovative ideas to create something new and web based for Jersey.
The Digital Jersey Hub will be hosting the first Island-wide Hackathon from Friday 26 September to Sunday 28 September for people passionate about the digital sector.
They will have 40 hours to test software to its limits and try to create something new like a new web or mobile service to benefit the community.
Front and back-end software developers, designers, artists and creatives, mobile developers, hardware hackers, security specialists and those passionate about the digital sector are all invited to attend the event which is being run by Digital Jersey with Collaborate.je and TechTribes.je
Mattched IT’s Director Matt Chatterley said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for creative and digital minds to collaborate and we hope that, as well as creating something new for and on behalf of the community, that new working relationships will form as a result.”
Digital Jersey’s Director Andrew Jarrett said: “The Digital Jersey Hub was designed with a view to providing a platform for large-scale, collaborative events, so it’s great to see it being used to its full potential, and I look forward to seeing industry learn and collaborate in this creative format to benefit the wider community.”
