Beach Clean Boards

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

“Beach Clean Boards” have gone up at key locations around Jersey’s coast, as part of a joint project between Plastic Free Jersey, Surfers Against Sewage, and the Government of Jersey’s Climate Change Engagement team

The boards, which were created by La Moye Prison a few years ago, are each equipped with reusable bags (not to be thrown away) and litter-picking arms for Islanders to use after a visit to the beach.

The boards are looked after by local cafés/restaurants/businesses and can be found at: Bonne Nuit, the Gunsite, St Brelade, Greve de Lecq, Rozel, Havre des Pas, Gorey and Bel Royal.

Jane Burns from the Government of Jersey’s Climate Change Engagement team is available for interviews about the project. Please contact the Press Office on pressoffice@gov.je to arrange.
