If you did then, like the late Osmund Simon, you took part in what was the first of what has become the Island’s most enduring charity fundraising event, the Lions Club of Jersey Swimarathon. Moreover, if you were one of the 936 swimmers who took part, the Lions would like to hear from you.

The 2022 Swimarathon, sponsored by Ravenscroft, will be the 50th event and takes place between 9 and 13 March next year. While it is accepted that many of those who participated in 1972 are probably no longer active swimmers, the Lions are planning a special reunion for what is also the Swimarathon’s 50th anniversary.

If you were one of those swimmers, please contact Lion Peter Tabb on 07797 721275 (or by email peteretabb@gmail.com) and if you still have your certificate so much the better!

As a matter of interest to date 350 teams have registered for the event and with the teams yet to confirm, just 82 55-minute slots are available.

Details of availability can be obtained from administrator@lionsswimarathon.org
