Jersey’s longest running charity event, which takes place between 12–16 March 2014 at Les Quennevais Sports Centre, is a great family event and a valuable way to raise much-needed funds for local children’s charities, the focus for the fund-raising next year.
Oakwell Children’s Respite Centre has been selected as the main beneficiary of the funds raised by participants in the event with an additional 25 Jersey-based children’s charities encouraged to apply to share at least £25,000.
Lions Club of Jersey President, Lion Chris Clarke said: ‘We have received a magnificent response to our launch with a record number of lanes taken already. Once again it is proof of the great affection that Jersey has for this event. We are hoping that the weather is a little kinder to us next year but know that the commitment will be just as strong’.
Chris Blampied, Head of Banking, RBC Wealth Management commented: ‘We had a great turn out this year, and I hope that we can match and exceed the number of teams entered and the funds raised. The focus on children’s charities is an inspired choice and I am personally looking forward to taking part in another successful event.’
