Gary Burgess, said: “In previous years it’s been my privilege to host the coverage of the Jersey Hospice Care Million Pound Lottery Draw live on ITV Channel Television. To be on the other side of the fence getting to draw one of those winning numbers will be such a treat. Thank you to all those who both nominated people for this opportunity and all those who then voted, and to my fellow nominees who were all utterly deserving. I shall be making the draw on all their behalf, and here’s hoping the number that comes out is the one you need!”

Each year, the Million Pound Lottery is highly anticipated in the Jersey events calendar. From the buzz it creates in early May as ticket sales are launched to the excitement ahead of the draw, it brings islanders together. For Hospice, it is also a key event for them to give back to the community which supports them so faithfully every year, with a total of £1,300,000 given back in ten prizes. Building on this community spirit, Hospice launched the ball drawer competition as a way to recognise and celebrate the many heroes we have seen go above and beyond supporting other islanders during the pandemic.
