Organisers of the Sark Jersey Challenge, an endurance swimming race which took place in 2021, have announced that the event has now raised over £10,000 for Dementia Jersey and are delighted to have recently presented the cheque to Claudine Snape from Dementia Jersey.
Claudine Snape, Chief Executive Office at Dementia Jersey commented “We’re so grateful for the continued support we’ve received from Simon O’Donoghue and the team behind the Sark Jersey Challenge. The money raised will make a huge difference to islanders in Jersey living with dementia and means we can continue to provide life-changing support to them, their families, and carers. A big thanks also goes to sponsors Spring Investment, Dickinson Gleeson and Axal Leine and we wish all the swimmers the best of luck with the Jersey France Challenge this year!”
The event is operating again in 2022 but with one big difference. This year’s fundraising challenge will start in Jersey and finish in France. Teams will, however, still swim a similar 14-mile distance to Carteret, France, on Saturday 23 July 2022.
Event Organiser, Simon O’Donoghue said, “We know people love the event, but I wanted to keep evolving the event and add something different so that we keep raising funds for Dementia Jersey. So, this year we will all stay over in France after the challenge and have a little celebration together. It’s certainly proved popular, and we have even more teams participating this year, which is fantastic”
The Jersey France Challenge takes place on Saturday 23 July and will continue to raise valuable money and awareness for Dementia Jersey. Entry is still open to teams of up to six people and for more information on the Challenge, please visit: https://jerseyfrancechallenge.com/
