La Mare Wine Estate has teamed up with Jersey Hospice Care to help raise funds for islanders with a life limiting condition, this Christmas.
La Mare has installed ‘Tap to Give’ technology in the Maison de Jersey shop on King Street in St Helier, giving customers the opportunity to make donations as they are out shopping.
The contactless donation point is one of many being trailed by local charities and rolled out by the specialist palliative care charity as a quick and simple way for customers to show their support.
Shoppers can make a completely secure automated donation of £2 using the machine, with their contactless card or smart phone or watch.
Commenting on the initiative, La Mare’s Managing Director, Tim Crowley said: “We’re delighted to be amongst the first to embrace this new, safe and easy way of donating to Jersey Hospice Care, a charity which does such an amazing job locally and who we are proud to be supporting in this way.”
Jersey Hospice Care’s Director of Income Generation, Katrina Hancock, added: “We are very grateful for the support which Hospice receives from the whole Island community as every donation we receive helps us to support those who need our care. In an increasingly cashless society, we want to make it easy for people to give to Hospice while they’re out and about in town. We are delighted to partner with La Mare Wine Estate with “Tap to Give” in the window of their shop on King Street and hope that everyone who walks by will consider making a gift to Hospice this Christmas.”
