L’Horizon plays host to Jersey Football Awards

L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa played host last week (Friday 8th June) to the Jersey Football Awards and the Jersey FA’s special guest speaker Robert Jeffrey Stelling, President of Hartlepool United FC and presenter of Soccer Saturday on SKY Sports.

Jersey FA and Combination League officials, players, sponsors, supporters and football fans enjoyed an evening at the AA Four Red Star beachside hotel in St Brelade hosted by Jersey Sport’s Tim Pryor, the former sports editor for BBC Radio Jersey who produced and presented Good Morning Jersey and SportsScene. 

Tables were grassed over and dressed with candles and a whole host of football accessories and after a drinks reception with music from Piers Alexander, 150 guests were treated to a fabulous three course menu created by the hotel’s culinary team, under the guidance of Executive Head Chef, Andrew Soddy. 

Stelling, a sports journalist and presenter who currently presents Gillette Soccer Saturday for Sky Sports then took to the stage as special guest speaker and helped present this year’s awards. He entertained the audience with stories about his fellow Soccer Saturday pundits, his travels around the world watching football and speaking about his career as one of England’s best known sports reporters.
