Mourant Ozannes Jersey Property team has successfully assisted The Channel Islands Co-operative Society (Co-op) with its leasing of a newly constructed Premier Inn hotel in Charing Cross, St Helier in Jersey.

The firm’s property team provided legal advice to the Co-op from inception through to completion which has taken over three and a half years to finalise. The team assisted with pre-let agreements, construction documentation as well as negotiating and settling the form of lease itself.

This deal has been a key investment for both the Co-op and Premier Inn with the added benefit of supporting Jersey's booming tourism market.

Mourant Ozannes Head of Jersey Property, Gavin Renault, said, "It has been encouraging to see the Co-op - a long-established local business in Jersey - diversifying its portfolio and we are pleased to have been involved during each step of their new venture. Our property team's global expertise in transactions like this one is invaluable in ensuring that high profile projects are completed and delivered on time."

"Channel Islands Co-operative Society Chief Development Officer, Jim Plumley, said: "This has been a major development project for us and it's been extremely beneficial to have worked alongside Mourant Ozannes and our dedicated team of architects, contractors and local businesses. Despite the challenges, we are proud to have been a part of this scheme which will benefit the local community and tourism in Jersey for many years to come."
