Get prepared to get really dirty! The Lions Muddy Fun Run, cancelled in 2022 because the drought, is back on the calendar and will take place over a revised course in St Saviour on Saturday 26 August.

Using fields off Princes Tower Road near La Hougue Bie, this year’s event will feature a course of around three kilometres and some new obstacles, all designed to add more for muddy fun to an event that, prior to Covid, attracted more than 500 participants.

“We learned a lot from our previous events,” says Lion Chis Palmer, organiser of the 2023 Lions Muddy Fun Run.

“With several innovations that we would have included in 2022 had that event been able to take place. This year we have one course and it will be over similar muddy ground that has proved so popular. We have increased the number of obstacles so that they will be closer to each other and provide more of the glutinous thrills and laughs that are the great attraction. This is very much a family event and, as in previous years, children as young as seven are welcome to participate provided they are accompanied by a participating adult. Once again the Lions are putting the fun into fundraising.”

The Lions Muddy Fun Run will start at 10.00 am and teams and individuals will start in groups. Once again there will be ample free parking and various catering.

The cost of entry is £10 for children from 7 to 14 years and all children under 14 years must be accompanied by a participating adult. The entry fee for individual adults is £20, teams of up to six participants £20 per person and family teams of four £60.00.
