Child Accident Prevention Jersey (CAPJ) is once again preparing to welcome over 1,000 Year 5 students to Highlands College between 8th - 17th July to attend the annual ‘Safety In Action’ event.
They will have the opportunity to visit six fast, fun and interactive workshops covering Fire Prevention, Kitchen Safety, First Aid, Water Safety, Road Safety and Outdoor Safety. These workshops each provide important safety messages, information and life skills to keep children, their family and friends safe.
The ‘Safety In Action’ event is a meaningful part of the annual school calendar and provides an opportunity for children to learn from experts in their fields. It is supported by the uniformed services, local businesses, charitable and voluntary organisations,
Child Accident Prevention is aligned to the Children & Young Peoples Plan 2024-2027 and CAPJ is a key partner of the Best Start Partnership delivery plan and is recognised as having an important role to play in helping children to grow up safely.
CAPJ wants every child to explore, play, have fun and get muddy in the process, in order to help them develop and reach their full potential. They believe it is the right of every child to grow up in an environment that keeps them safe from injury, disability and death. A balanced approach to assessing the risks and benefits of an action will reduce the number of children failing to become healthy, happy adults because of an unintentional injury in childhood.
CAPJ are most grateful for the support of their Safety In Action event partners, including:
