Global Parental Alienation Awareness Day is the 25th April. We are hosting a walk on the 23rd of April for anyone who wishes to join.
Our Goal: To raise awareness in our community of what parental alienation is, the impact it has on a child’s life, challenge some of the myths and encourage discussion that will lead to positive change such as Jersey recognising parental alienation like in places such as Gibraltar
What is parental alienation: Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) defines parental alienations as “when a child’s resistance or hostility towards one parent is not justified and the result of psychological manipulation by the other parent.”
The action is aimed at the alienated parent but performed through the child and the horrendous impact this can have on the life of the child both as a child and later as an adult is why many refer to this as child abuse and can only stop with greater awareness.
The Walk: The global parental alienation awareness day is the 25th April. We are hosting a walk on the 23rd of April for anyone who wishes to join. Weather permitting we are leaving St. Brelades parish hall in St. Aubin at 11:00 and undertaking a gentle walk along the footpath by the seafront to the Freedom Tree at the Waterfront. There will be leaflets available for anyone who wants to learn more
For anyone who is unable to do the walk but wants to show their support feel free to meet us at the Freedom Tree.
