Pinel Advocates advised on the recent acquisition of C5 Alliance Group by BDO Group in Jersey, who have joined forces to form one of the largest locally-owned professional services and technology groups in the Channel Islands. Pinel Advocates previously advised BDO on its acquisitions of Greenlight CI and Sator Regulatory Consulting in 2016.

Andrew Pinel, Partner of Pinel Advocates said: “We were delighted to assist BDO Jersey with the acquisition of C5. This was an exciting opportunity to help the businesses amalgamate and we were able to provide corporate and commercial, property and employment law advice to them. This is an exciting step forward for both BDO and C5.”

Senior Associate Oliver Hughes led a team including Andrew Pinel and Kate Hamilton.

Matthew Corbin, CEO of BDO Group, said: “This acquisition is highly strategic for us and consolidates two leading businesses in their respective fields to create a unified firm providing strategy, consulting, digital, technology and managed services. Pinel Advocates have advised us at all stages through this transaction, and we are grateful to Andrew, Oliver and the rest of the team for their clear and pragmatic advice and close support of us throughout.”

Pinel Advocates is a leading corporate and commercial law firm in Jersey and was recently voted Corporate and Commercial Law Firm of the Year 2018 by ACQ and Investment Funds Law Firm of the Year 2018 by Corporate International.

BDO Group in Jersey is locally owned and managed and is a member of BDO International, the world’s fifth largest accountancy and advisory services network.
