A set of six stamps and a Miniature Sheet celebrating the 70 th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, will be issued by Jersey Post on 14 November 2018, the Prince’s birthday. The stamps, which have been designed by Up Studio, feature portraits of Prince Charles at different ages.

“We’ve been fortunate to have been given permission to use some really iconic photographs for this stamp issue, some of which are rarely seen,” comments Melanie Gouzinis, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post. “Taken by prestigious portrait photographers including Lord Snowdon, Yousuf Karsh and Peter Grugeon, they have been carefully chosen to span the Prince’s life, beginning with a young Prince Charles photographed at Buckingham Palace in 1957. The Miniature Sheet which accompanies the set shows His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, together with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall enjoying a day out at Ascot Racecourse on 20 June 2017.”

A new £3 Definitive stamp will also be issued by Jersey Post on 14 November in celebration of the Prince’s milestone birthday. The Definitive, which will be available as a single stamp or in a sheet of four, features a portrait of Prince Charles from 2006 and will be finished with a special silver hot foil print technique.

Charles Philip Arthur George, the first son of Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was born on 14 November 1948 at Buckingham Palace, London at 9.14pm.
