Prosperity 24/7 recently presented £12,968 to two critical local charities which was generated from the pedalling power of the participants in our seventh annual Prosperity Day virtual cycling challenge which took place in September.

The team at Prosperity feel honoured to support both Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey and Dementia Jersey as our chosen charities for 2021. The £6,484.10 given to each charity will provide essential resources, both of charities having been impacted by Covid-19 and the direct issues this has caused to fundraising opportunities.

The cycling challenge comprised fifteen corporate teams going ‘head to head to head’ in the saddle.  Each team of three competed in a fast paced 30 minute race using 3D race technology and turbo bike trainers to take on a gruelling virtual stage of the Tour De France. Ogier reigned victorious when both race and fundraising performance were combined to secure the top spot on our podium. Islands Insurance and JTC took second and third places respectively.

Our team were once more, incredibly proactive, as they were in 2020, enabling our Prosperity Day event to be undertaken safely and successfully at the Jersey Museum, who we would also like to thank along with The Yard for catering our evening event.

Steph Gibaut, Head of Operations and Fundraising from Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey expressed “A massive thank you to Prosperity 24/7 for this incredible donation! We are so grateful for your support. It has been an amazing year working alongside your wonderful team.”

Claudine Snape, CEO of Dementia Jersey said, “Thank you so much for raising this incredible sum for our charity, your support goes a long way, contributing to the costs to deliver activities and support services to over 400 people, affected by dementia, every month”.

Chris Clark, CEO of Prosperity 24/7 added, “Prosperity Day has been running annually since 2015.  Over the last seven years, Prosperity, with the incredible support of participating teams, have raised more than £118,000 which has been distributed to fifteen incredible charities.”

Next year, Prosperity is proudly supporting Durrell Wildlife and the Re-Wild campaign as well as the RNLI Jersey. These two fantastic charities are always ready to respond, whether the support needed is protecting global habitats and species or local residents and boat owners in need.

We look forward to holding Prosperity Day earlier next year on Friday 15th July, 2022 – registration will be opening soon – let’s hope it is a record year!
