The Jersey Triathlon Club is thrilled to announce that registrations are now open for the 2025 Try-a-Tri, Jersey’s super sprint triathlon programme tailored for beginners.
Scheduled for June, this exciting event provides an accessible and supportive way for individuals of all fitness levels to experience the thrill of triathlon.
What is Try-a-Tri?
Try-a-Tri is more than just a race—it’s a journey designed to introduce newcomers to the sport in a fun and welcoming environment. Participants will take on a 400m swim, a 5km bike ride, and a 2km run, supported by expert guidance every step of the way.
Why Join?
● Open to Everyone: No prior experience or specific fitness level is required.
● Comprehensive 12-Week Training Program: Starting this spring, participants will receive expert coaching across all three disciplines, including transitions.
● Additional Swim program: For weaker swimmers sessions start in January to help gain confidence in the water and swim the required distance.
● Main Event: Cross the finish line in June and celebrate your accomplishment in front of a supportive crowd.
"Try-a-Tri is all about helping people of various abilities take the plunge into the sport,” said Michael Bateman, President of the Jersey Triathlon Club. “Truusje does a fantastic job of organising training and building participants’ confidence toward their big day. The event itself is hugely popular, with a large turnout of supporters creating a fantastic atmosphere."
Since its inception in 2016, hundreds of participants have embraced the joy of triathlon through Try-a-Tri, with many continuing their journey in the sport. Could you be next?
