Two accountants at Cleland & Co have successfully completed their professional qualifications.
Sammie Redhead qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and Anna Mauger qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants achieving the second highest score worldwide for the last five professional papers in the December 2015 exams. Previously she scored the highest worldwide for the paper P2 corporate reporting in the December 2014 exam.
Managing Director Harry Dick-Cleland said: "Since incorporation in 2003 we have grown from five of us to 12. We have reaped the rewards from training and developing our staff and are one of the few locally owned accountancy practices that train Chartered and Certified accountants. Sammie and Anna are vital members of our team and their qualifications have given them the confidence and knowledge to achieve the best for our clients. We are committed to delivering a high quality of service."
Miss Redhead joined Cleland & Co Limited in 2009 after completing her A-levels at the Grammar School. She completed her Certified Accounting Technician exams in 2012 and then became Cleland’s first ICAEW qualified accountant.
She has recently been promoted to manager and her clients vary from a trust company or a builder, to a farmer, or an investment company. When she is not working, she dances and recently qualified in Jersey for the Dance World Cup.
Miss Redhead said: "Cleland & Co could not have been more supportive to me whilst I was studying for my exams, as well as performing my day-to-day work. The broad range of clients I work on definitely helped with my studying. Not a week goes by when I am not learning."
Miss Mauger who has a BA in History and a Masters in Modern History, joined Cleland & Co Limited in September last year and completed her final ACCA exams with them.
She said: "Since I started with Cleland & Co Limited, my feet have not hit the ground. I really enjoy that the work is so varied and covers a wide range of clients in different industries, such as charities, fiduciaries, captive insurance companies, as well as local owner-managed businesses."
