Guernsey Museum is launching an appeal to identify local servicemen whose names should be inscribed on the War Memorial in Smith Street.

The president of the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture Deputy Paul le Pelley explained, ‘We are aware of an individual who gave his life during the Falklands War and have also heard there may be others who died during the World Wars who were omitted from the War Memorial for whatever reason. The Museum would like to hear from anyone who is aware of a name that is missing. The individual’s service history and connection with Guernsey will be researched, with the intention of adding eligible names to the memorial during 2018.’
