Appointment of Paul Ainsworth as PR manager

Aurigny Air Services has announced the appointment of Paul Ainsworth as its new PR manager.

Mr Ainsworth brings with him more than 10 years’ experience in journalism, arriving at the airline from his previous role as a senior reporter at the Guernsey Press.

Taking over as PR manager, he will be responsible for managing Aurigny’s public relations both locally and off island.  He will also be responsible for managing all internal company communications.

Mr Ainsworth will be working alongside the airline’s CEO Mark Darby and its Commercial Director Malcolm Coupar. It is an existing role within the company.

Mr Ainsworth has described it as an exciting opportunity and said he was looking forward to the challenges ahead with the new role.

He said: “Having worked for newspapers, both in the UK and here in Guernsey, for over a decade now, I felt this was the right time to take on a new challenge. Aurigny is a vital travel provider for so many in the Bailiwick community and I want be part of a team that strives to improve the experience and its communications with its customers. I am really keen to engage with all key stakeholders for the airline, including its many passengers both locally and further afield.”

Before joining the Guernsey Press, Mr Ainsworth worked for two regional newspapers in the UK.

He graduated from Staffordshire University where he obtained a BA Hons. degree in journalism.

Mr Ainsworth has family links to Guernsey and has for many years been actively involved in charity events in aid of the Guernsey Gateway Club.
