Law firm Walkers has appointed Juliana Atere as an associate within the corporate team.
Ms Atere has city experience in corporate, finance, dispute resolution and property as well as working on high value transactions. In her new Guernsey-based role, she will advise on all aspects of Guernsey corporate law including investment funds, corporate acquisitions and disposals, commercial regulation and cross-border corporate transactions.
Ms Atere, a qualified solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, completed her training at Teacher Stern LLP, a London-based commercial law firm in 2017. Prior to this she held paralegal roles at magic circle law firms Linklaters and Freshfields and worked as a legal intern at Samsung Electronics.
‘I am looking forward to working with the great team at Walkers both in Guernsey and globally and I am particularly impressed by the strong female leadership that is evident at the firm. My experience working at commercial law firms in London will be useful in collaborating with mutual clients who often require offshore advice,’ said Ms Atere.
Walkers Guernsey managing partner Louise Hall added: ‘Juliana’s commercial experience working at magic circle law firms will be of great benefit to Walkers’ portfolio of corporate clients; her appointment adds extra strength and depth to the growing corporate team.’
Prior to joining Walkers, Ms Atere completed her post-graduate legal practice course at BPP Law School London and her undergraduate law degree at the University of Cambridge.
Walkers Guernsey is the latest addition to Walkers international practice which spans 10 jurisdictions (including Bermuda, BVI, Cayman Islands, Dubai, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jersey, London and Singapore), following the merger with AO Hall in 2016.
