Customers will soon have a new flight to choose from when they take Aurigny’s Gatwick service on a Friday. The airline is adding an extra departure, leaving Guernsey at 1230 and arriving into Gatwick an hour later. The return from Gatwick is at 1400. The new lunchtime connection will begin on Friday 4th November and continue until the end of March. It will mean that the airline is offering up to ten flights to London on a Friday; seven to Gatwick, two to London City and one to Stansted.
On Sundays, Aurigny is retiming the 1800 departure from Gatwick to 1430, which is aimed at providing a better spread of flights across the day. This will be of particular benefit to the connecting flight traveller who may have arrived into Gatwick mid-morning.
Malcolm Coupar, Aurigny’s commercial director, says: “Fridays are one of our busiest days, with customers looking to book weekends away and business travellers heading home. The new lunchtime service from Guernsey plugs the historical gap in the schedule in the middle of the day and adds an extra 144 seats to our Gatwick service on the day they are most needed, throughout the winter months. For those choosing to come to Guernsey, the new early afternoon departure will mean that they avoid the Friday rush hour.”
He continues: “The Sunday early afternoon departure will remove the gap between our 1150 and 1630 departures from Gatwick, meaning much better flight time choices for customers arriving into Gatwick on Sunday mornings from a long or short haul flight.”
Aurigny expect the new Gatwick flights to be popular and the advice to customers is to book early at
aurigny.com or a travel agent, to get the best fares.
