Julie Terpstra has been appointed as branch manager at Barclays in Guernsey.
In her new role Julie will be responsible for the running of the Barclays branch in the high street and for leading the team of community bankers.
Community banking was launched in March this year to ensure customers receive the best service possible and enjoy their banking experience more.
Community bankers will spend more time ‘on the floor’ interacting with customers and helping them access the range of services available to them.
Mrs Terpstra has been head of the counter team at Barclays for nearly 20 years and will now be focusing on providing quality customer service for Barclays’ clients and offering digital and collaborative solutions for all of their banking needs.
She said: “Community banking is a new approach and will be my main focus as branch manager. We want the ability to be more agile and flexible for our clients and we are also trying to become more active within the community with offering staff the option to train as a Digital Eagle to promote initiatives such as LifeSkills and Tea and Teach sessions.”
“I’m excited having had the opportunity to get more involved with the overall management of the branch and I am committed to providing quality customer service for all of our clients.”
Head of local markets in Guernsey, Justine Gaudion said: “The community banking model has changed to ensure that clients can obtain the support they need by trained and experienced staff. Community banking has transformed the way we interact with customers in the banking hall and in the wider community and we hope they enjoy the experience of banking with us even more.”
