AFM has appointed Ben Le Huray as its new commercial director.
Mr Le Huray, 36, joins the facilities management firm from Specsavers, where he worked in business development, and was accountable for development activity at more than 230 stores in London and Sweden.
In his new role, Mr Le Huray will support the managing director and board of directors at AFM in shaping the strategic direction of the business. He will be responsible for attracting new business, appraising, developing and launching new services, risk management, building commercial partnerships and managing contracts.
Mr Le Huray said: "AFM is a company with a great reputation for having a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and I am thrilled to be part of the team. I hope that I can build on my existing skill set and help the firm achieve its ambitions.
"I am looking forward to working with the managing director and board of directors to pinpoint how we sustainably grow the existing business and identify where we want to take the business in the future."
AFM’s managing director, Mark Edgar, added: "Ben has a proven track record in project management and negotiation and clearly has a very strong work ethic. I am confident that his experience will help us take AFM in the direction we want it to go, growing our services across the Channel Islands."
Mr Le Huray, who was educated at Elizabeth College and the University of Bath, holds a masters degree in manufacturing engineering and management. He has previously worked as an innovation analyst for major organisations across Europe, including Airbus, GlaxoSmithKline and the Renault F1 team.
A keen surfer, skier and cliff runner, Mr Le Huray led a team of volunteers at Specsavers that raised £52,000 for the Prince’s Trust and competed in an adventure race in Borneo.
