Guernsey’s creative community will be taking part in the third annual Guernsey Game Jam this month.
The 48-hour international event is hosted by Kurtis Richards, co-founder of TinkTec Studios at the Digital Greenhouse, and will see more than 90 countries simultaneously battling it out against the clock to come up with ideas and create innovative video games. It’s the second year C5 Alliance has been involved in the Guernsey Game Jam.
Participants will be tasked with creating video games as part of the global challenge; the event will be sponsored and supported by local technology company C5 Alliance. In addition to sponsorship, the event will see a number of C5 developers and creatives join in with the fun.
As the world’s largest game creation event; it hopes to stimulate global collaboration and creativity through video game creations.
C5 Alliance director of bespoke development, Marc Beavan, said: “The Global Games Jam fosters creativity and collaborative ideas. We saw 30 participants in Guernsey last year and we expect a huge show of talent again this year.”
TinkTec Studios co-founder, Kurtis Richards, said: “This is a brilliant gaming event, with participants working against the clock to create fun and innovative new games. We want to make this event bigger and better than previous years, inviting as many people to get involved as possible.”
