Carey Olsen’s Cleverest Business Charity Quiz has raised more than £5,000 for two local charities.

The third annual charity event pitted local businesses against one another in a multi-sensory quiz experience that raised money for the firm’s two chosen local charities - RNLI and The Stroke Association Jersey.

25 teams of six competed at the interactive event held last Thursday (17 November) at the Merton Hotel.  Quiz master Nick Carver and BBC Jersey presenter Charlie McArdle put the teams through their paces in a series of interactive rounds that featured film clips and voice recognition, history, sport, science and geography, music as well as taste, smell and memory challenges.

A team from Mourant Ozannes who called themselves ‘Who Bought the Big Dutchman’ took home the winning trophy with 86 points. JTC Group's ‘Quizzy McQuizface’ were second with 81 points and BNP Paribas ‘Team Zissou’, Capita Asset Services ‘Excellent, Smithers’ and Social Security Department ‘Ministerial Decision’ were joint third with 76 points.

The annual quiz takes place in both Jersey and Guernsey as part of Carey Olsen's on-going charitable activity.

Chairman of Carey Olsen’s charities committee, Sue Cooper, said: “The Carey Olsen Charity Quiz, which is open to all businesses in Jersey, has become a much anticipated annual event with each company hoping to be the "cleverest in Jersey" and have their company name inscribed on the trophy".

Carey Olsen partner, Siobhan Riley, said: “Once again the Carey Olsen Charities Committee has raised in excess of £5,000 from this year’s charity quiz night which will benefit The Stroke Association Jersey and RNLI. We are grateful to the many local businesses who entered teams and who gave so generously for the raffle."
