Carey Olsen has maintained its longstanding position as the go-to offshore legal adviser for AIM-listed clients, according to the latest AIM Advisers Rankings Guide (published October 2016).
The guide places Carey Olsen alongside major international law firms in joint third place overall based on the number of AIM clients it advises with 36 in total – over a third more than its nearest offshore competitor – and a combined market capitalisation of £5.16 billion. The firm is also the leading offshore legal adviser to FTSE AIM 100 Index clients, advising six with a combined market capitalisation of £2.5 billion.
Carey Olsen is highlighted as the offshore law firm of choice for AIM Clients in the basic materials, consumer services, financial clients and industrial sectors and continues to be the only offshore law firm to feature in the top legal advisers table, with the other four places taken by international onshore law firms such as DLA Piper and Memery Crystal.
Carey Olsen Guernsey partner, Tom Carey said: “Carey Olsen's position within the rankings continues to grow and these latest statistics reaffirm our position as the market leading offshore legal adviser to AIM clients in particular. It also highlights the continued success of our corporate team in servicing clients across the offshore jurisdictions in which we work.”
The AIM Advisers Rankings Guide, now in its ninth year, is published by Adviser Rankings and contains details of institutional advisers and their quoted AIM clients. The rankings are drawn from UK and Channel Islands-domiciled companies and from the growing number of overseas companies joining AIM.
The AIM rankings follow the recent publication of the IFLR1000, Chambers UK, and Legal 500 UK where Carey Olsen was similarly awarded top tier status for its corporate advice.
