Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office has appointed James Cooke as a senior associate in the firm's expanding corporate and finance team.
Mr Cooke joins Carey Olsen from another leading offshore law firm, having worked in Guernsey and the BVI and initially trained at Eversheds in the UK. He qualified as an English solicitor in 2003 and was admitted as a solicitor in the BVI in 2008.
Due to his expert offshore legal advice, he has been regularly recognised by leading legal directory, Legal 500, for his work in the investment funds, commercial and banking sectors. He has been recommended by IFLR1000 as a rising star for investment funds, financial and corporate work since 2014.

Mr Cooke specialises in corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, investment funds and special-purpose acquisition companies, providing both Guernsey and BVI legal advice to clients. He also provides advice on capital markets, listings and restructuring matters as well as the regulatory law underpinning these transactions.
