Deputy Le Tocq is in London today attending the Global Tax Transparency Summit, organised by the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee alongside delegations from Jersey and the Isle of Man.
The summit has brought together parliamentarians from across the world to discuss tax avoidance and promoting tax transparency.
Deputy Le Tocq said: “Guernsey has committed to all the international standards on tax transparency including the OECD’s Common Reporting Standard, BEPS initiative and Country by Country Reporting.”
“The island is recognised as being at the forefront of meeting Global Tax Transparency standards so the summit provided a valuable opportunity to meet with UK MPs as well as legislators, tax agencies and officials from NGOs from across the world, including developing nations. Altogether representatives from countries with a total population of 2 billion were present. Hosting the summit was the Chair of the Committee of UK Public Accounts Meg Hillier MP. I was glad to be present to ensure that our message is heard and understood.”
