One of the UK’s leading business academics is visiting Guernsey next Friday to present a seminar on Innovation in Financial Services.

Dr David Baxter, Associate Professor of Innovation, Southampton Business School, will be speaking at the Greenlight Innovation Lunch about what island businesses can do to become more innovative.

The event, which is to be hosted by Greenlight at The Digital Greenhouse, is an opportunity for the Guernsey business community to find out more about how to adapt to threats of disruption.

Alan Chapman, Principal Consultant and Head of Guernsey, said: “We’re delighted to invite Dr Baxter to speak to the business community about innovation and are certain that he will have some interesting insights into the challenges Finance and other island businesses face.”

Greenlight are the Channel Islands’ leading independent business change specialist offering expertise in strategic and transformational change.

Founded by Eliot Lincoln in 2008, Greenlight has offices in Jersey, Guernsey, and Manchester, offering consultancy services including business analysis, programme management, and project management.

Eliot Lincoln said: “Guernsey’s businesses face new challenges from disruptors to their industry every day. Innovation is one way of meeting these challenges, and of helping your business to change, grow, and become more successful.”

Dr Baxter’s specialities include the innovation process, customer insight methods, and knowledge and learning in innovation. He said: “Technological change, changes to customer preferences, and changes to the regulatory frame work mean companies have to innovate more and faster than ever before.”
