A new director for West Sealand Digital will be based in the island but work on the company’s projects across the world.
The company, which is part of global specialist security company West Sealand International, has appointed David Crook as a director. He will bring 30 years’ experience in the IT and finance industry to his new role.
Educated at Elizabeth College, Mr Crook went straight into the finance industry and worked with Credit Suisse in its Guernsey, London and Switzerland offices. He moved into IT when he joined ITEX and then followed colleagues to Sigma before establishing his own company. He has moved to West Sealand Digital after seven years at a local IT consultancy.
‘West Sealand Digital’s specific focus on information security was what attracted me to this role. I recognised that my three decades of IT operational experience would be very valuable to the company’s global clients,’ he said.
‘Cybercrime affects everyone and I want to be part of a company that is committed to pushing the boundaries of what it can do to minimise the risk and impact. A company which is investing in managed service solutions that will make a positive difference to companies in the Channel Islands and internationally.’
Mr Crook, who has an MBA from Southampton University, said he was looking forward to helping build West Sealand’s Guernsey headquarters as well as working with professionals around the world.
‘This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining. West Sealand has an enviable network of high calibre specialists through its offices and consultants in in Washington, Scandinavia, United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia,’ he said.
