Guernsey Electricity has raised a grand total of £2,237.20 from their 2016 charity calendar for local charity Only Fools and Donkeys.
The calendar featured photos of picturesque local spots taken by Guernsey Electricity employees including Grand Havre, the Bluebell Wood and Shell Beach.
Dave Smart was one of the Guernsey Electricity staff members who entered the initial photography competition and won the chance to have his photograph of a poppy field in St Peters on the front cover. He also chose Only Fools and Donkeys as the 2016 beneficiary charity.
Only Fools and Donkeys was set up by two local sport enthusiasts in 2010 to raise money for local projects such as the Guernsey Sports Association for the Disabled, St Martin’s Day Centre and Le Rondin School.
Mike Marshall at Only Fools and Donkeys, said: “We are extremely grateful that we were chosen by Guernsey Electricity as the beneficiary charity of the 2016 calendar. The calendar included some extraordinary photographs and really showcased Guernsey’s beauty.
“The amount that has been raised from the calendars is phenomenal and will really help towards our community projects on the island.”
Clare Packman, communications manager at Guernsey Electricity, said: “Thank you to everyone who picked up a calendar and left a donation. The response was fantastic and we raised the second largest amount we ever have from the calendar - all for a well-deserving charity.
“The calendar is a great way to showcase the creative talent at Guernsey Electricity, the team here are proud to support Only Fools and Donkeys with their work in helping to improve the lives of those facing real adversity."
Previous charities that have benefitted from the calendar include Les Bourgs hospice, the GSPCA and the Channel Islands Air Search.
