International Women’s Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across the world. Jersey Women’s Refuge annual breakfast event has developed each year and invites ladies and gentlemen to come along and celebrate successes and achievements of women.

At the event, the ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’ award sponsored by Barclays is presented.  Members of the public are invited to nominate a local inspirational women for the award, which will be reviewed by the judging panel made up of Refuge Chair Pat Sabey, Jenny New from Barclays and Cassidy MacIntosh, last year’s winner.  Three women will be shortlisted and the winner will be announced at the breakfast.  

The Award will be presented at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, where the breakfast event takes place on Tuesday 8th March.  There will be a special guest speaker as well as the morning also consisting of entertainment including a singer, dance and poetry.

Guest speaker, Pamela Pitcher is registered with the International Coach Federation. Pamela is frequently invited to speak to groups around the globe about ‘Building Natural Confidence’ and is thrilled to be part of this years Jersey Women's Refuge International Women’s Day Breakfast.

Lorna Kearney, Manager at Jersey Women’s Refuge said, "International Women’s Day is a very special date in the Refuge calendar. We are very excited to be highlighting the achievements of women in our local community who are inspirational to others. It is always very enjoyable to see everyone coming together not only to celebrate the day but also to support the valuable work of the Refuge. We will be welcoming men to come and join the celebrations". 

The breakfast takes place Tuesday 8th March 7.30am – 9.00am at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel. Tickets are £15, which includes; bubbles on arrival, breakfast, entertainment and a goody bag.
