Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited has signed a three-year agreement with Guernsey’s Finance Sector Non-Executive Director Forum LBG (The NED Forum) to support the group’s annual programme of events.

The NED Forum, which was founded in 2011, provides support for and promotes the views of the non-executive director community in the Channel Islands’ finance sector.

As an independent, non-profit organisation, the NED Forum organises a number of industry events throughout the year, including networking opportunities and seminars with leading industry commentators on topics such as data protection and Guernsey’s future after BREXIT.

Gordon Irish of Investec in Guernsey said: ‘We are very pleased to be able to support the NED Forum and the work it is undertaking to equip the Island’s finance sector leaders of today and tomorrow, through its programme of events and the NED Forum’s support of the NED Apprenticeship Programme administered by the GTA University Centre. Investec has a strong reputation for caring for the banking needs of professionals at senior levels across industry sectors and this agreement enables us to provide support in a different but equally valuable way. We are looking forward to helping the NED Forum team to expand its programme of events, which will be of great benefit to the Island’s business community.’

Tina Torode of the NED Forum commented: ‘The importance of the NED Forum is recognised throughout the finance industry, and by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and the States of Guernsey. We organise a series of presentations, workshops and seminars throughout the year covering diverse topics from corporate governance and legislative updates to sector specific subjects such as investments or insurance, as well as soft skills training and advice. We are grateful to Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited for demonstrating their support and commitment over the next three years, which will enable us to develop our programme further.’

The NED Forum in Guernsey has over 160 members who meet on a regular basis. Events attract CPD points. Event details can be found on the NED Forum website.
