A Special carol service to remember loved ones is being held at Les Bourgs Hospice on Sunday.

The Light Up A Life carol service is open to all islanders, regardless of whether their lost ones spent time at the hospice or not.

‘Christmas is a time to celebrate but can be tinged with sadness as we remember friends and family who are no longer with us. The annual Light Up A Life service honours those we have lost while being thankful for what we do have,’ said Liz de Carteret, chair of the Friends of Les Bourgs Hospice, which organises the service.

The service will also raise funds for Les Bourgs Hospice as lights on the Christmas tree can be sponsored in remembrance with forms available online at www.lesbourgshospice.org.gg

The service, which lasts an hour, starts at 5.30pm but there will be singing by The MSG Carol Singers from 5pm. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be served afterwards. Waitrose has given permission for anyone attending the service to park in the car park of the Rohais store and a shuttle bus will transport people to and from the hospice.
