Another phase of the Guernsey Hockey’s investment programme has been completed thanks to help from The Sure Community Foundation.
The Foundation made a donation to the project to sponsor a dugout at the Guernsey Hockey Footes Lane facility. The Sure logo appears on one of the team dugouts as part of the sponsorship agreement.
The Guernsey Hockey facilities have undergone extensive refurbishment in the past year, including the addition of a 120-seater grandstand for spectators, a new playing surface and surrounding fencing.
Peter Stahelin, director of Guernsey Hockey, said: “We’d like to thank The Sure Community Foundation for its support for this stage of our refurbishment.
“The Footes Lane facility is looking like a really professional arena thanks to a lot of hard work by club members and community partners and it’s a fitting space for our island teams to compete in national competitions, as well as local leagues and junior development.”
Jan Collins, Corporate Solutions Product Manager at Sure and member of the Sure Community Foundation, said: “As a former island player myself I know that it makes a huge difference to play in an arena that has a professional feel and high quality facilities.
“Hopefully this donation will give all players an extra edge as they compete in their respective matches. We were pleased to support them and wish them the best of luck for the seasons ahead.”
