ABN AMRO Channel Islands has promoted two members of staff within the relationship management teams.
Rachel Neill and James Olliver bring several decades of technical and client-facing skills to their new roles at the Dutch bank, which says the promotions underline its commitment to supporting the career development of its local staff. Both are based in Guernsey, but work with a range of clients.
‘Alongside my existing role as a relationship manager, my promotion means I’ve taken on additional responsibility as a manger a team of eight client account managers within ABN AMRO’s structured wealth department. I’m excited about my new role supporting my colleagues in their development, which ultimately benefits our clients by enhancing the service that we provide,’ said Ms Neill.
The 37-year-old has served in a variety of technical, back-office and client-facing roles since first joining ABN AMRO as an administrator in 2008. For the past five years, she has been a client relationship manager at the bank. Ms Neill holds multiple professional qualifications, including the IOC Advanced Global Securities Operations and is currently studying towards her Investment Advice Diploma.
Mr Olliver, 36, has been promoted to a relationship manager after starting as a client account manager at ABN AMRO in March 2017. The former Elizabeth College student began his career in 2001, spending five years at MeesPiersonReads. He also worked at Credit Suisse for 10 years, including 14 months in Zurich where he went to business school.
‘For me, it really is all about the clients, building those relationships and getting to know people. While there is so much change going on, relationship management is key and always will be. I’m looking forward to using all my experience and skills in my new role,’ said Mr Olliver, who has passed level 6 of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) Diploma.
‘Both Rachel and James have technical and client-facing experience of benefit to our clients, and their promotions are well deserved. It also underlines our commitment to developing our staff in terms of their career progression,’ said ABN AMRO Channel Islands’ managing director, Graham Thoume.
