Saffery Champness Registered Fiduciaries in Guernsey has won the ‘independent trust company’ award at the 2016 WealthBriefing European Awards from a shortlist of five global trust and fiduciary companies.

Now in its fourth year, the WealthBriefing European Awards saw more than 500 senior banking and wealth management professionals attend the gala event at The Guildhall, London, on Thursday 19 May, presented by BBC’s Sophie Raworth.

Showcasing ‘best of breed’ providers in the global private banking, wealth management and trusted advisor communities, the awards were designed to recognise companies, teams and individuals which the prestigious panel of judges deemed to have ‘demonstrated innovation and excellence during 2015’.

The judging panel comprised trusted advisors judging the private banking categories and a panel of private bankers judging the trusted adviser categories. The judges commented that the win was based on a ‘combination of Saffery Champness’ strong management team, clear focus on staff education, and commitment to IT developments that impressed judges.’

Managing director of Saffery Champness, Nick Batiste, said: “By proactively thinking rather than just ‘processing’ and by working in partnership with our clients’ own private offices and advisers, we pride ourselves on being more than just a service provider.

“These award accolades are a reflection of this and are a clear demonstration of the high level of service the team here provides.”

ClearView Financial Media’s CEO, and Publisher of WealthBriefing, Stephen Harris said: “These awards were judged solely on the basis of entrants’ submissions and their response to a number of specific questions focusing on the client experience, not quantitative performance metrics. That is a unique, and I believe, compelling feature.

“These awards recognise the very best operators in the private client industry, with ‘independence’, ‘integrity’ and ‘genuine insight’ the watchwords of the judging process - such that the awards truly reflect excellence in wealth management.”

Last week Saffery Champness was named ‘Institutional Trust Company of the Year’ at this year’s Citywealth Magic Circle Awards.
