Julius Baer continues to expand its private banking team in Guernsey with senior appointments. During a year with strong growth, four senior figures join with a focus on further developing the client base.
Julius Baer has made four senior appointments to its private banking team in Guernsey.
Andy Phillips, Stefano Bruschini and Tim Bichard have joined the bank as Executive Directors in the relationship management team, while Sam Grayland has been appointed to the position of Executive Director in the portfolio management team. All four move to Julius Baer from Credit Suisse.
‘The provision of private banking services through individuals located within Guernsey dedicated to the local marketplace, providing a local point of contact, has always been key to ensuring a high level of service for our local and international clients that utilise the services of the Guernsey branch,’ said Branch Manager, Paul Van Neste.
‘The addition of four further individuals to our already experienced relationship management and investment team will ensure that our strong position in servicing private banking clients in the island is further supported.’
The appointments have been made during a strong year for the local private banking team at Julius Baer, with a record number of new clients and record assets under discretionary management.
Mr Phillips, who has 30 years’ industry experience, previously worked at Kleinwort Benson in Guernsey and Barclays in the UK. An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, his focus is working with and servicing locally-based clients and UK resident, non-domiciled individuals.
Mr Bruschini, who is fluent in Italian and German and holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Genoa, has more than 24 years’ industry experience dealing with high net worth clients.
A graduate of Loughborough University, Mr Bichard joins Julius Baer following a 17-year career at Credit Suisse. He will focus on building relationships with clients based in both Guernsey and the UK.
Mr Grayland, who was at Credit Suisse for 12 years, holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Exeter together with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments Diploma; all four are Chartered Wealth Managers and CISI Fellows.
Julius Baer has had a presence in Guernsey since 1994 and now has more than 100 staff in the island.
