Spiderman made a surprise appearance in the Sure shop at Envoy House to launch superhero day, which will take place at the Sure Big Screen on Wednesday 26 August.
Sure’s Big Screen returns to Cobo for a week of free films from Tuesday 25 until Monday 31 August and will feature a dedicated superhero day for the first time.
Film fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero for the day and there will be prizes for the best costume posted to the Sure Guernsey Facebook page.
Showing on the day will be family favourite Big Hero 6, Marvel’s action-packed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and cult smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy.
A tablet, smartphone and notebook are all up for grabs and all you have to do is dress as a superhero and upload a photo of yourself enjoying the Big Screen to the Sure Guernsey Facebook page on the day. A prize will be given out after each of the films for the best costume.
To celebrate superhero day there will also be free face painting during the showing of Big Hero 6 starting at 2:30pm and Sure staff will be giving out sunglasses throughout the day for film fans.
Spiderman said: “Obviously there can only be one Spiderman, but it’s always flattering when people dress up as me. Sure is giving away some fantastic prizes so make sure to post those superhero photos to their Facebook page.”
Renée Jordaan, marketing and PR manager at Sure Guernsey, said: “Film fans attending superhero day will get the chance to meet Spiderman, who will be joining us for a day of great films, fun and prizes.”
