Corporate travel and group booking specialists TravelSolutions has successfully tendered for the States of Guernsey Contract for the States Travel Service and Medical Travel Grant Service for off-island treatments.

This is the first time that the two Contracts have been offered as a single tender. The term is up to five years.

The Medical Travel Grant Service provides travel to the UK for people requiring treatment not available here in Guernsey. TravelSolutions has successfully managed this service for the last seven years, and the firm is pleased to have been chosen to continue servicing this requirement.

The States Travel Service covers travel requirements for States employees. This covers such activities as teachers or firefighters, for example, going away for training.

TravelSolutions supports the States' belief that combining the two accounts with one local travel management company is cost effective, and will achieve significant time savings. In addition, the firm's experienced staff have the latest travel reservations technology at their disposal, which will benefit the users of both States Services.

The account is handled by Gemma Le Sauvage who recently joined TravelSolutions as Channel Island Corporate Manager. She had worked on the States Travel Service previously, which means continuity of service for the account users.

Headquartered in Guernsey, TravelSolutions employs nine staff in its St Peter Port office, and celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2014. In addition, a further 21 staff are located in four further offices across the UK and Channel Islands - Bristol, Bromley, Jersey (having purchased the business of Premier Travel in St Helier in 2012) and Oxford.
