Nerine Group of Fiduciaries are showing their support for colleague, Naro Zimmerman, who will be completing four sporting challenges this summer to raise money for local charity, the Eleanor Foundation.
On 11 June, Mr Zimmerman ran the Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Jersey Half Marathon. He will follow this by completing his first ever half Isoman triathlon on 1 July at Arrow Valley Park in Worcestershire. To end his summer of sporting events he will be taking part in the Cotswolds 10km marathon swim on 20 August as well as the Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Guernsey Marathon on 27 August.
In addition to contributing a donation towards the charity, Nerine has also paid Mr Zimmerman’s entry fees for the events. Nerine are also celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and their new anniversary logo will be showcased on Mr Zimmerman’s sports kit.
The Eleanor Foundation was formed in 2012 in memory of international development student Eleanor Carey who lost her life while cycling in London in December 2011. Her ambition was to work towards providing sustainable futures for communities and the foundation is working to achieve this aim. Nerine have been keen supporters of the Foundation in recent years.
Mr Zimmerman, who is one of Nerine’s trust managers, said he was looking forward to the challenges this year.
“These four challenges are pushing me outside of my comfort zone and I’m grateful to Nerine for supporting me over the past few months with my training. I’m most looking forward to the half Isoman triathlon because I’ve never attempted this before and I’m eager to test my limits to see if I can go further in the future.
“The Eleanor Foundation is close to my heart having supported them for a number of years. I am competing to raise money and awareness for a wonderful local charity.”
The Jersey half marathon welcomes over 500 runners each year to run 13 miles starting in St Ouen and ending in St Helier. The half Isoman Triathlon consists of a three and a half mile swim, 30.75 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. The Cotswolds 10k marathon swim will take place in the Ashton Keynes Lake and Naro will finish the summer by running 26.3 miles around Guernsey’s coast at the Guernsey Marathon.
