The Sure Community Foundation in Guernsey has reached a significant milestone having donated over £100,000 to over 50 Bailiwick charities since its launch in 2012.
The Foundation provides support and services to a wide range of local charities and community initiatives.
Sure’s employees are actively involved in funding and managing the Foundation as well as taking part in, and organising, fundraising activities for the local charities it supports.
Some of the more recent projects that have been supported by the Foundation include £3,200 to the Cardiac Action Group for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the provision of one of Sure’s telephone boxes to host the unit in St Peter Port, the donation of £2,600 to the GSPCA to aid with building new multi-purpose animal accommodation as well as £3,372 to the Guernsey Scouts to provide a complete wireless solution in their headquarters.
Karen Jagger of the Sure Community Foundation said: “We are proud to have reached such a significant milestone in the three years we have been running the Foundation.
“This success is thanks to the hard work of the Foundation’s committee who dedicate their time to reviewing applications, agreeing donations and ensuring that projects are completed.
“This year employees will have the opportunity to get more involved with nominating the local charities that they would like the Foundation to support.
“It has been fantastic to have worked with so many local charities and groups on different projects and we’re looking forward to supporting more good causes in 2016.”
